Shadow of the Tomb Raider composer Brian D'Oliveira of La Hacienda Creative and Audio / Music director Rob Bridgett of Eidos Montreal elaborate on the sound and music of the game in the video feature above. The announcement of D'Oliveira's involvement in the upcoming franchise pillar installment alongside supporting compositions by Martin Stig Andersen precedes.
Bridgett and D’Oliveira crafted the sound and music of Shadow of the Tomb Raider over three years: "From dense jungles and bustling city hubs to terrifying tombs and underwater cenotes – the game’s rich environments come to life with an immersive and authentic audio experience". D'Oliveira even visited Mexico to collect trunk-loads of authentic instruments for his La Hacienda studio in Montreal.
D'Oliveira takes the reigns from Rise of the Tomb Raider's Bobby Tahouri and continues to incorporate the rebooted thematic motif created for Lara Croft by Jason Graves in 2013. The Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Original Game Soundtrack is to be released as enclosed in special retail editions of the game, due to hit video game retailers worldwide on September 14th, 2018.
A few weeks back I joined our composer @BrianDOliveira at @La_Hacienda to talk about how we are blurring the lines between sound & music in Shadow of the #TombRaider #gamemusic #gamedev #gameaudio
